Investigate the Abuse and neglect
Approved Humane Investigators investigate complaints of animal neglect that get called into the HAHS office.
If you think you or someone you know has what it takes to become a Humane Investigator, please contact us.
Investigators must live in Illinois, be 21-years-old or older, have experience with horses and provide a letter of recommendation from their veterinarian and non-relative attesting to their experience with horses. They must also pass a background check and must pass the Investigator exam held later in the fall by the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
HAHS holds an annual prep course for the exam every fall. 2016's course is September 10th.
Please contact HAHS before the end of summer to be put on a mailing list for more information.
You may contact HAHS at 815-337-5563 or you may e-mail us at info@HAHS.org.
