Undernourished, but alive............

These four horses were investigated in Will County, IL and impounded by local law enforcement officials. A veterinarian that was called by the law enforcement officials gave the horses a slim chance of survival if not immediately removed from the premises. Without food and water for days, they are extremely emaciated. Momma, Stud, Ribs and Red, as they are nicknamed for the time being, are one mare, one stallion and two geldings and are about 11, 6, 10 and 17 years of age respectively. In quarantine for another 8 days, these horses have already been de-wormed, vaccinated and have seen the equine dentist. They love their hay and will be available for adoption once rehabilitated.
