Williamson County Herd
Sunny, gone but not forgotten
Before
In late October 2006 HAHS investigated a horse farm in Williamson County. Nine horses were living in mud with dangerous fencing. Many had fence wounds and the water they were drinking was out of a scummy pond. Extremely thin, they lived in a
filthy barn that contained an aborted fetus from a foundered red dun mare that could barely stand. Williamson County detectives obtained a court order to seize the animals on November 6, 2006. 6 months later, in foster care, Sunny, the foundered red dun mare, was humanely euthanized. After 6 months of continuances the court finally released the remaining 8 horses to PAWS.
