Julio
Hungry and long-hooved......
Before
On Labor Day 2006, Julio came to live at HAHS. After an investigation that found him thin, long-hooved and unwanted, and rather than incurring farrier costs the owner made the decision to relinquish. It was a true labor of love when our investigator hauled him to us for rehabilitation. Julio is rumored to be in his early twenties but we suspect that he is younger. A previous vet diagnosed laminitis as a result of poor hoof care, but Julio is now adjusting to life with feet that allow him to walk comfortably.
After
Julio enjoys his many new friends at HAHS especially the donkeys Pedro and Juan. It's almost like an early morning concert when all three start roaring at breakfast feeding.
