Another large scale rescue arrived at the farm when HAHS assisted a sheriff's office in Florida who had impounded five horses from a case of neglect. The horses were transferred by the sheriff's department to a farm on the Florida - Georgia state line and were then picked up by a professional horse hauler to make the long trip from Florida to Woodstock, IL. Transport fees were raised solely through fundraising efforts and HAHS cannot thank everyone who donated enough to help support the transport and care of these rescue horses! All five horses arrived at HAHS on May 4, 2016 and settled in very well! Moonstone, Anna Maria, Bergamot, Clementine, and Valencia seem to love their new pasture and are eager to meet visitors over the fence. We are excited to help these horses regain their full health!
