Two Bays

Two Bays

In August, two more horses came to join the HAHS herd. Bubbles, who was forgotten in a paddock when his elderly owner died, was said to be a therapy horse. Bubbles is blind in one eye and was given a body score of 2 when he arrived - he was also badly in need of a dental visit, as he had trouble chewing his food. Bubbles is a sweet gelding in his 20's that always whinnies loudly when he is ready for his grain!

Before and After: Bubbles. This sweet gelding continues to gain wieght on his specialized mash diet. He also had surgery to remove his blind and sunken eye that was causing him much pain. Now that he is comfortable and pain free, he is much happier!

The other horse was picked up by Kankakee County Animal Control when he was found wandering loose. Cooper, a 4 year old stallion, had a body score of 2 and is missing the tips of his ears (either from frostbite or purposeful removal). Cooper is somewhat nervous, but very sweet and interested in people. Now that he is gelded, he is even more mild mannered and sweet - we know he will make someone a great horse one day!

Before and After: Cooper. This beautiful gelding is currently enjoying time out in the pasture with other horses. We hope to evaluate him soon!
